Sie sagen: rasend leben. Mit vierundzwanzig Jahren starb, ein ungeheueres zersprungenes Gefäß der Kraft, zu früh mein Landsmann und sehr großer toter Bruder Georg Büchner. Er stammte aus Darmstadt, liebte den Elsaß und ist mir auch sonst seltsam nahe. Schrieb Lenz, Danton, Wozzek und die unendliche Süßigkeit Leonce und Lenas. Ich widme dies Buch des größten Lebenswillens seinem großen Andenken.
