Pierre Louis Ginguené, né à Rennes, le 25 avril 1748, fit avec distinction ses études au collège de cette ville: il y était condisciple de Parny, au moment où les jésuites en furent expulsés[1]. Mais c'était au sein de sa propre famille, peu riche et fort considérée, que Ginguené avait puisé le sentiment du véritable honneur et le goût des lettres.
