Ziska by Marie Corelli
By: (1855-1924)

I recently finished reading Ziska by Marie Corelli and I must say, it was quite an intriguing and captivating read. The story follows the protagonist, Ziska, a mesmerizing and mysterious woman who is rumored to be a sorceress and possesses certain supernatural powers.

The author does a phenomenal job of creating a vivid and exotic setting, drawing the reader into the world of ancient Egypt and painting a detailed picture of the culture and beliefs of the time. The descriptions of the Egyptian temples and rituals are both haunting and mesmerizing, adding a sense of mystique to the story.

The characters are well-developed and multi-dimensional, particularly Ziska herself, who is a complex and enigmatic figure. Her interactions with the other characters in the story are filled with tension and suspense, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.

Overall, Ziska is a compelling and thought-provoking novel that delves into themes of power, love, and the supernatural. Marie Corelli's writing style is rich and poetic, drawing the reader in from the very first page. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a blend of mystery, romance, and the supernatural.

Subject: Ziska
A drawn out story, appropriate to the era when people had more time to lounge around a wait for a story to develop. I skipped five chapters, picked up the thread and still enjoyed the end. Well narrated throughout.
