Leopoldo Lugones fue una figura central en la literatura argentina y universalmente reconocido; fue conductor de pensamiento y estilos. No deja de generar constantes polémicas; no tanto por su obra literaria indiscutible, sino por su protagonismo político, que sufrió fuertes virajes ideológicos a lo largo de su vida, pasando por el socialismo, el liberalismo, el conservadurismo y el fascismo.
