By: (1856-1919)

Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is a heartwarming and enchanting tale that takes readers on a magical journey through the life of everyone's favorite holiday icon. Written by the beloved author L. Frank Baum, best known for his famous Wizard of Oz series, this book offers a unique and imaginative take on the origin story of Santa Claus.

The story follows Santa Claus from his humble beginnings as an orphaned baby, to his upbringing by the immortals of the Laughing Valley, and ultimately to his life as the legendary gift-giver we all know and love. Along the way, readers are treated to a cast of fantastical characters, including fairies, nymphs, and goblins, who help shape Santa's destiny.

Throughout the narrative, Baum weaves together themes of compassion, generosity, and the power of belief. The writing is rich and descriptive, transporting readers to a magical world where anything is possible. The illustrations by Michael Hearn further enhance the whimsical atmosphere of the story.

Overall, Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is a delightful read that will enchant readers of all ages. Perfect for the holiday season or any time of year, this book is sure to become a beloved classic in your library. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the magic of Christmas in a whole new way.

Book Description:
Every child knows about Santa Claus, the jolly man who brings gifts to all on Christmas. There are many stories that tell of his life, but the delightful version relayed in The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is by far the most charming and original of all, at least in my opinion. Only L. Frank Baum, the man who created the wonderful land of Oz, could have told Santa's tale in such rich and imaginative detail. The book is divided into his youth, his manhood and his old age and of course ends in how he became immortal and had to recruit helpers in almost every household around the world to keep the joy and happiness going each year. This delightful book has been recorded by volunteers several times, including a wonderful dramatic version, but I think it is nice enough to do again and will also be a chance for new readers to contribute their unique voices to this tale. I hope we can finish this in time for the Christmas season but if not, that's OK too. Santa would understand! - Summary by The publisher and phil chenevert

A very enjoyable tale about Santa Claus. I've never heard this version before, I really liked it. to be honest I'm surprised that it has never been made into a Christmas cartoon or more well know because it being written by L Frank Baum. Jedopi does a good job telling the story.
