The Little Duke by Charlotte M. Yonge is historical fiction based on the the life of Richard, Duke of Normandy. He assumes the title of Duke at only 8 years of age, after his father is murdered. The story first appeared in her magazine, The Monthly Packet, as a serial.

Subject: The little duke
The heavily accented English of the reader of the last chapters made this too difficult to listen to. It’s nice that he volunteered to read, but it took too much effort on my part to understand what he was reading and not worth it for me.

A few of the chapters are great then several at the end you can not understand.
