Secret Garden (version 4 dramatic reading)

Book cover
By: (1849-1924)

I recently had the pleasure of listening to a dramatic reading of "Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and it was truly a captivating experience. The story of Mary Lennox, a lonely and neglected child who discovers a hidden garden on her uncle's estate, was brought to life in a remarkable way through the talented voice actors and sound effects.

The characters were portrayed with depth and emotion, making it easy for the listener to become fully immersed in their world. From the spoiled and lonely Mary to the kind-hearted Dickon and the mysterious Colin, each character was brought to life in a way that made them feel like real people.

The pacing of the reading was excellent, keeping the listener engaged and eager to find out what would happen next. The descriptions of the garden and its transformation were vivid and enchanting, painting a beautiful picture in the listener's mind.

Overall, this dramatic reading of "Secret Garden" was a delightful and enchanting experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a heartfelt and inspiring story that will transport them to a world of magic and wonder.

Book Description:
Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic children's novel is about orphaned Mary Lennox, who is sent to live with her uncle at Misslethwaite Manor in Yorkshire. Initially a sour, bad-tempered child, Mary begins to bloom under the influence of nature when she discovers a long-abandoned garden on the grounds of her uncle's estate. Burnett's novel is brought to life by LibriVox volunteers who lend their voices to her characters.
