Warlord of Mars (version 2)

Book cover
By: (1875-1950)

In this third installment of the adventures of John Carter on Mars, our hero labors under sentence of death (for having returned from the land of the dead) in a heroic struggle to recover the beautiful Dejah Thoris, Princess of Helium. He scours the planet from pole to pole, enduring imprisonment and torture, outwitting antagonists, reveling in carnage, accepting aid from unlikely sources, and dealing tactfully with women who love him despite his devotion to his wife. Having deprived an entire planet of its false religion, he offers in its place worldwide alliances and the promise of lasting peace.

My goodness, the chapter 16 reader is horrid! I love the books, but she was hard to listen too...

Another great SiFi book by ERB. Long John Carter of Barsoom and Princess Dejah Thoris. I read this series many many years ago and just happened upon them a few months ago. Thanks Loyal Books for hosting them and many other audio books.

I don't binge read these, but I love listening to them as I go to sleep. I am so glad I found this website, I don't have to pirate audio books anymore!

I was sad when the last chapter was read by someone else after listening to him for 3 full books. This book is good and continues in the same fighting sense as the others. Good ending. Now onto book 4.

I had to continue in the series to find out what happens. I can't say I was disappointed and glad to finally get to the ending that didn't leave me dying to know what came next. If you loved the first two books in the series this one is a must. You won't be sorry.
