Saint Gregory's Commentary on Job, sometimes called "An Extensive Consideration of Moral Questions," was written between 578 and 595. It is Gregory's major work, filling some 35 books or 6 volumes, making perhaps the single largest surviving patristic work. This encyclical letter of Pope Pius IX was promulgated in 1864 and issued with the attached Syllabus of Errors.
