Santarenaida: poema eroi-comico   By: (1768-1803)

Book cover

I recently had the pleasure of reading Santarenaida: poema eroi-comico by Francisco de Paula de Figueiredo and I must say it was a delightful and entertaining read. The poem follows the adventures of Santarenaida, a valiant yet comical hero, as he navigates through various absurd and humorous situations.

Figueiredo's writing style is both witty and imaginative, with clever wordplay and vivid descriptions that bring the story to life. The characters are quirky and exuberant, making for a thoroughly enjoyable and lighthearted read.

One of the highlights of the poem is the underlying satire and social commentary woven throughout the narrative. Figueiredo cleverly critiqued the societal norms and conventions of his time, adding depth and complexity to the otherwise light-hearted storyline.

Overall, Santarenaida is a delightful and charming poem that will appeal to readers of all ages. I highly recommend picking up a copy and immersing yourself in the whimsical world of Santarenaida.
