By: (1836-1893)

Lady Sybil's Choice is a thrilling historical novel set in Regency-era England. The story follows Lady Sybil, a young woman torn between duty and desire as she navigates the complex world of high society. The author, Emily Sarah Holt, does a fantastic job of capturing the societal expectations and constraints of the time while also delving into the personal struggles and growth of her characters.

The novel is well-paced and engaging, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader hooked. Lady Sybil is a compelling protagonist, who is both strong-willed and vulnerable, making her easy to root for. The supporting characters are also well-developed and add depth to the story.

Holt's writing is elegant and evocative, transporting the reader to a bygone era filled with intrigue and romance. Overall, Lady Sybil's Choice is a captivating read that will appeal to fans of historical fiction and romance alike. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-crafted and entertaining novel.

Book Description:
This historical novel is set in the 1100s in France and Jerusalem, following the First Crusade. Part of the story of Guy of Lusignan is told through the eyes of his fictional sister, Elaine.

Guy travels to the Holy Land to reclaim it from the Saracens. Elaine follows afterward, finding upon arrival that her brother has fallen in love with Sybil, the sister of the leper king of Jerusalem. Queen Sybilla, a real historical character, is surrounded by political intrigue as she prepares to ascend the throne, which threatens her upcoming marriage to Guy of Lusignan.

The story, however, is not primarily about the history of the period, but about the spiritual journey of Elaine to repentance and saving faith in the era of the medieval Church. How will Elaine's frail peace of mind, which depends on earthly things, cope with the looming storms on the horizon? - Summary by TriciaG
