Book Description:
A famous race horse disappears a week before an important race; the trainer is found dead on the desolate moor and the police are completely baffled. Naturally the owner and the police turn to Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson to help unravel the tangled threads of this mystery. Which he does in his usual imaginative and yet logical way. I think this is one of the best Sherlock stories by Doyle. We are given the clues and yet cannot see them until Sherlock slowly puts them together. Very enjoyable. - Summary by phil chenevert

Stories were entertaining. Two stories had subpar readers, but only the Final Problem reading was awful on another level. I can only hope that particular person ceased all audio book readings forevermore. That's the only story which I chose to read instead of listen.

Great stories! I love how the narrator changes voices with different characters.

Subject: #3 and #11
The reader for #3 had an heavy accent but she was a good reader. The reader for #11 - he needs to just read in his normal voice. - His reading is chopping and distracting and slow. Also the constant mouse clicking is nerve racking. #11 needs to be re-recorded

Almost all of the other readings were top notch until you get to The Final Problem. His reading ability was just not up to par for audiobooks. Not only was he very choppy with his reading and MANY mispronounced words but the voices he tried to make for the characters reminded me of a child at a tea party full of stuffed bears.

Great stories, whoever doesn't enjoy someone else reading for them, should then pick the book themselves.

Back ground is really bad, you can hear the pages in the background and the chattering of the employees outside. but the story is pretty good

I Just tried to get through number 11 again, haha. Last time it was very frustrating because most of the readers are exceptional. This time, it was actually kind of funny. The amount of words that he mispronounces, his inability to read with any flow and the fact that his impersonation of Sherlock Holmes sounds more like a drunken Davy Jones from the Monkeys make this almost a joke. The only saving grace is that it's free.

I enjoyed almost of the audio books except for Ch #11. He sounds terrible. You would think that they would make ppl audition for the readings b/f they plop just anyone in front of a mic. #3 did have a strong accent, but she was a good reader.

I have listened to almost every recorded chapter of Sherlock Holmes you provide. I greatly applaud you for all but one. The reader of "The Final Problem" is horrible! The hesitation in his reading is so pronounced the listener loses track of the story. You find yourself being able to visualize his finger dragging from word to word across the page. His concentration appears to be so taxed by trying out bad accents that he has no ability left to read as though a conversation is taking place. The only one I had to turn off as it was ruining the story for me.

The accent on #3 made it nigh impossible to understand. The staccato narration on #11 was extraordinarily distracting. I would recommend replacing these two with more understandable and enjoyable narrators.

I actually didn't mind reader #11 at all. He was slow and elaborate, he used voices, etc. it didn't bother me at all. The accent was a little tough as people have pointed out for #3 but still this recording of this book is overall good and it's worth listening to them all I believe.

Subject: #11 HORRIBLE
#11 is so bad, it's sounded like a teenager getting punished by reading something he's not interested at. Also I had a hard time listening to #3 because of the accent.

#3 very bad accent and disfigured words, #11 so horrible, I couldn't figure out if it is a computer-generated voice or a teenager with horrible nasal voice. The rest is good.

The kid that narrates #11 is a horrible reader. Please find someone that can do a better job like the rest of the stories. Other than that, great series.

Excellent! except that I had to skip #3 due to the narrator's accent.
