Lives of the Queens of England, Volume 10 by Elisabeth Strickland is a comprehensive and well-researched account of the lives of English queens throughout history. Strickland's detailed descriptions of each queen's personal and political life provide readers with a unique insight into the challenges and triumphs they faced during their reigns.

One of the most impressive aspects of this book is the author's ability to bring these historical figures to life, painting a vivid picture of the queens as strong, intelligent women who wielded significant influence over the course of English history. Strickland's engaging writing style and meticulous attention to detail make this book a captivating read for anyone interested in British history or the lives of powerful women.

However, at times the book can be a bit dense and overly detailed, making it a challenging read for those not familiar with the historical context. Additionally, some readers may find the lack of analysis and interpretation of the queens' actions to be a drawback.

Overall, Lives of the Queens of England, Volume 10 is a valuable resource for anyone interested in learning more about the lives and legacies of the women who have shaped England's history. With its rich historical content and engaging narrative, this book is a must-read for history enthusiasts and fans of royal biographies alike.

Book Description:
The Lives of the Queens of England is a multi-volumed work attributed to Agnes Strickland, though it was mostly researched and written by her sister Elisabeth. These volumes give biographies of the queens of England from the Norman Conquest in 1066. Although by today's standards, it is not seen as a very scholarly work, the Stricklands used many sources that had not been used before.

Volume ten includes the biography of Mary Beatrice of Modena , from 1701 to her death in 1718, and Mary II , through 1688.
