Younger Sister by Catherine Anne Hubback is a poignant novel that explores the complexities of sibling relationships and the societal expectations placed on women in the 19th century. The story follows the lives of two sisters, Mary and Anne, as they navigate the challenges of love, family, and duty.

Hubback does a fantastic job of creating well-developed and relatable characters that draw the reader in from the very beginning. Mary and Anne are both strong, independent women who must confront their own desires and dreams in a time when women were expected to prioritize their families above all else.

The novel is rich in historical detail, painting a vivid picture of Regency England and the constraints placed on women during this time. Hubback's writing is eloquent and engaging, capturing the nuances of the sisters' emotions and struggles throughout the story.
