With a selection of letters spanning the early years of Queen Victoria's reign, readers are able to see the young queen's transformation from a shy and uncertain teenager to a strong and confident ruler.

Through her correspondence, Queen Victoria reveals her deep love for her husband, Prince Albert, her close relationship with her beloved mentor, Lord Melbourne, and her struggles with the responsibilities of her position.
